Civils Site Manager / Senior Engineer Location: Ipswich, Suffolk Salary: Competitive car/allowance, pension & progression Contract: Permanent, full-time The Opportunity We’re growing our civil engineering capability and seeking an experienced Civils Site Manager to lead delivery on a major industrial/logistics park. You’ll take ownership from pre-construction through handover, steering Section 278 highways, earthworks, drainage, foundations and utility infrastructure to safe, high-quality, on-programme outcomes. What you’ll be doing * Manage daily site operations (pre-con to completion) to programme, quality and H&S standards. * Lead Section 278 works and LA audits/adoption. * Oversee earthworks (cut/fill, compaction & testing—CBR, plate load, density). * Control drainage & foundations in line with design/specs. * Coordinate utilities end-to-end (electric, water, gas, telecoms) including SU liaison and capacity for large industrial users. * Review drawings/specs to drive value engineering and constructability. * Manage subcontractors, suppliers, plant and QA documentation (ITPs, RAMS, as-builts). * Track and report progress, costs and quality. What you’ll bring * Proven civils site management on large infrastructure/industrial schemes. * Hands-on Section 278 delivery and adoption experience. * Strong understanding of earthworks, drainage and foundations. * Confident with utility interfaces from design through connection. * Skilled in reading drawings, identifying VE opportunities and implementing change. * Clear communicator and leader with strong planning and commercial awareness. * Competent with QA systems and site documentation. Qualifications * HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (preferred). * CSCS (Managers/Professionals), SMSTS, First Aid at Work. * Full UK driving licence. * Nice to have: Industrial/logistics civils experience, DNO/water authority interface knowledge, Temporary Works Coordinator, exposure to AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
