Role Description
This is a part-time role a
Business Performance Analyst
to play a key role in improving profitability, reducing costs, and enhancing operational efficiency as we move into our new factory.
This position involves analysing costs, negotiating with suppliers, optimizing marketing expenditures, and evaluating business operations to drive financial performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial mindset, excellent analytical skills, and experience in cost management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost of Goods Analysis & Supplier Negotiations
* Calculate the current cost of goods sold and identify areas where costs can be reduced.
* Map production processes.
* Understand labour cost, overhead, variable costs and how they might scale as the company grows.
* If time allows, work with existing suppliers to negotiate better terms and identify new suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality and reliability.
2. Operational Cost Analysis & Efficiency Improvements
* Analyse operational and process costs to pinpoint inefficiencies.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements that reduce waste, increase productivity, and lower costs.
* Collaborate with operations teams to implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality or output.
3. Marketing & Advertising Performance Analysis
* Review marketing and advertising spend in relation to sales performance.
* Analyze the effectiveness of different marketing channels (digital ads, social media, SEO, traditional media, etc.) to determine ROI.
* Provide recommendations to optimize the marketing budget and allocate spending to the most effective channels.
* Support decision-making by identifying trends and forecasting marketing cost-effectiveness.
4. Financial Reporting & Decision Support
* Present financial insights to senior management, supporting data-driven decision-making.
* Define appropriate KPIs for each area.
* Work closely with finance, procurement, operations, and marketing to ensure alignment of cost-saving initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field (MBA, CIMA, ACCA, or CPA preferred).
* Experience in operations helpful as we are a manufacturing company
* Strong analytical skills with experience in cost control and performance tracking.
* Proficiency in Excel.
* Ability to interpret marketing and sales data to assess effectiveness and optimize advertising spend.
* Strong communication skills to present financial insights to senior management.
