We are looking for a passionate and experienced adult educator to join our dynamic team with proven experience supporting unemployed individuals or those with multiple barriers. If you thrive on inspiring others, delivering high-quality learning, and supporting diverse communities, this is the role for you.
You will be involved in designing, planning, delivering and reporting on an array of different pathways. Delivery will take place face-to-face.
You will join a supportive team of experienced tutors committed to excellence in teaching, learning and assessment, with opportunities for professional development and CPD.
All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver high-quality accredited and non accredited programmes.
2. Provide inclusive, culturally competent learning experiences that raise aspirations for diverse communities.
3. Set individual targets, monitor progress, and evaluate learner achievement.
4. Promote Adult Education provision through various channels, including social media.
5. Support learners with multiple barriers by embedding coaching approaches, confidence-building, wellbeing awareness and barrier‑reduction strategies.
6. Provide high-quality information, advice and guidance on employment pathways. • Liaise with and engage local employers (as necessary/directed) to ensure a clear and structured route into work for residents on programme
7. Work collaboratively with Job Shop advisers, employment support teams and partner organisations.
8. Facilitate and manage application/interview sessions with local employers, and with support from Job Shop employer engagement and event staff
9. Build strong relationships with internal and external Employer Engagement teams/resources in order to provide direct access to application routes and local vacancies
10. Strong understanding of barriers to employment, including mental health challenges, disability-related needs, long-term unemployment, and low confidence.
11. Knowledge of Coventry’s labour market, including growth sectors, employer expectations and progression routes.
12. Demonstrable experience of moving learners into sustainable employment, and strong positive destination data
13. Ability to motivate and engage adults with complex needs.
14. Skilled in adapting teaching for differing abilities, including those seeking higher-level roles.
15. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with vulnerable learners. • Commitment to safeguarding and trauma-informed approaches.
16. Knowledge of local third-sector and community-based organisations that support vulnerable residents
17. Knowledge of the Vocational Training sector, and the local ITP landscape
Essential Requirements:
18. English and Maths at Level 2 (minimum).
19. Teaching qualification at Level 3 (minimum).
20. Subject-specific qualification at Level 3 or equivalent.
21. Up-to-date knowledge of curriculum practice and experience or adult education delivery.
22. Strong understanding of equity, inclusion, safeguarding and Prevent.
23. Ability to teach across multiple venues and formats throughout the year.
