Post Summary
This vacancy is for two posts. The post holders will provide leadership, focus and guidance to the Patient Access agenda for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
Responsibilities
* Scope, develop and manage processes that deliver waiting time targets across GGC.
* Ensure that all appropriate actions are enacted to systematically manage and reduce patient waits, ensuring delivery of national waiting time guarantees and targets across each Acute Sector and Clinical Specialty.
* Create a supporting structure to deliver the National Access Targets and establish productive links with Acute General Managers and Clinical Service Managers.
* Work closely with Acute operational teams to meet waiting recovery objectives.
* Lead and coordinate the delivery of services via private sector in‑sourced and out‑sourced contracts from initial business case to monitoring post‑award transfer of the contract to services.
* Act in a monitoring and compliance role for the Head of Access to ensure appropriate measurement of performance and consideration for change.
* Be cognisant of the impact of changes on the ability to deliver operational services and meet performance measures such as waiting times.
* Use project management skills to lead on and deliver project objectives and to initiate and contribute to service redesign/transformation for the achievement and maintenance of Acute Divisional operational targets and modernization of acute care delivery, primarily in an office‑based setting supporting the Head of Access and developing team working.
Qualifications and Skills
* Strong project management skills and experience in leading cross‑functional teams.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver process improvements in a healthcare setting.
* Experience in monitoring compliance and measuring performance against targets.
* Effective communication skills and the ability to establish links with a range of stakeholders.
* Knowledge of NHS patient access and waiting time targets is desirable.

Flexible Working
From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part‑time working hours will be reduced on a pro‑rata basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
