Position Overview
Title: Void Officer – Permanent role within the Regional Accommodation Maintenance Service (RAMS) under the Ministry of Defence’s Future Defence Infrastructure Services.
Location: Birmingham, Kineton, Bramcote, Hereford, MOD Donnington, Telford, West Midlands. Requires extensive travel.
Driving licence: Full & Clean essential.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
* Build and maintain collaborative relationships with local MoD personnel and end‑users to ensure excellent delivery of the Amey contract.
* Work with Performance and Continuous Improvement Coaches and Void Managers to capture void performance concerns and develop improvement plans.
* Assess every property at the start of the void period to ensure tasks required to bring the property to move‑in standard are identified and presented to the client for endorsement.
* Ensure ground maintenance contract compliance within the area of responsibility.
* Plan resources effectively, monitor against objectives, and meet milestones and targets.
* Utilise available technology to produce and analyse data, maintain accurate records, and identify problems within the area of remit.
* Adhere to Amey processes, identify, and share effective ways of working within the Amey contract.
* Support the development of the supply chain void preparation team to achieve required preparation standards for properties at the Pre‑Move In Check.
Qualifications
* Experience managing safety in a construction or housing environment.
* Planning and management of maintenance tasks.
* Attention to detail and ability to identify opportunities to improve maintenance standards.
* Management of Safe Systems of Work.
* Accredited training qualifications in Asbestos Responsible Person, Legionella Responsible Person, Authorised Person Training, Emergency First Aid, and Fire Safety.
* Desirable understanding of Construction and Property Maintenance processes and a focus on site compliance.
