The role
As an Electrical Designer, you’ll be instrumental in shaping innovative solutions for complex marine engineering projects. Your work will ensure that our designs meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency—making a real difference to national security and infrastructure. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your technical expertise while contributing to projects that matter.
Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
1. Preparing and producing CAD 3D models and drawings across all design lifecycle phases
2. Delivering clash-free cable management systems and electrical penetration models
3. Creating CAD 2D installation and fabrication drawings, including diagrams, layouts, and schedules
4. Liaising with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure design coordination and functionality
5. Developing innovative design solutions and resolving technical queries.
This role is full time and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Electrical Designer:
6. Strong technical knowledge in electrical design and manufacturing outputs
7. Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D software
8. Ability to work independently and within project teams
9. Experience in resolving technical and production queries
10. Knowledge of marine or commercial electrical systems is advantageous.
Qualifications for the Electrical Designer:
11. Minimum NC or equivalent in Electrical & Electronic Engineering systems
12. Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D; knowledge of CMPic is desirable
13. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
14. Familiarity with ISO standards and design lifecycle processes.
