Speech and Language Therapy Assistant
Location: Wavertree, Liverpool
Hours: Full-time, term-time only
Salary: £13.75 – £15.00 per hour
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wavertree is seeking a dedicated Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to support pupils with speech, communication, and language needs (SCLN). This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Speech and Language Therapist in delivering tailored therapy sessions.
* Work with pupils individually and in small groups to develop communication skills.
* Implement engaging, child-centred strategies to support language development.
* Monitor and record progress against therapy targets.
* Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic support.
Person Specification:
* Experience working with children, ideally in educational or therapeutic settings.
* Interest or background in speech and language development.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patient, creative, and empathetic approach to supporting children’s needs.
* Willingness to learn and contribute to a collaborative team.
Desirable (not essential):
* Relevant qualifications in speech therapy assistance, childcare, or education (training provided).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
