Our client, a dynamic firm of Chartered Accountants in Worcester, specialises in supporting small and medium‑sized owner‑managed businesses (OMBs). They are currently seeking an Accounts & Tax Manager to oversee a diverse client portfolio and ensure the accurate and timely completion of all compliance work.
Role Overview This is a client‑facing role ideal for an experienced professional with expertise in Accounts and Tax. You will manage a portfolio primarily comprising OMBs and SMEs, delivering high‑quality service while supporting and mentoring junior staff where required.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and oversee a portfolio of owner‑managed businesses and SMEs
* Prepare and review statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
* Complete personal and corporate tax returns accurately and on time
* Provide guidance and support to junior team members
* Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring excellent service delivery
* Identify opportunities for advisory work within the client portfolio
Candidate Requirements
* ACA/ACCA qualified preferred; AAT qualified or Qualified by Experience (QBE) considered
* Strong experience in a client‑facing accounts and tax role
* Experience managing SMEs and owner‑managed business clients
* Proficient in preparing personal and corporate tax returns
* Excellent organisational, communication, and client relationship skills
