We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly, outgoing Sous Chef to expand our exceptional Kitchen team.
We are a busy place which offers our team the opportunity to cater to a wide range of events. From our core wedding business, to innovative corporate events, to our exclusive 3 day tennis event, Hazlewood gives the chance for our kitchen team to spread their creative wings.
To deliver this effectively requires great team spirit, exceptional planning and a real appetite for excellence. This is what we are looking for in our new Sous Chef to join our kitchen brigade.

To make this role your own, you really need extensive banqueting experience, ideally to have been part of a team in a minimum 1 rosette kitchen and we'd recommend being able to drive

YOUR ROLE:
We are looking for a highly motivated Sous Chef to work alongside and support our Head Chef to motivate and inspire the rest of our brigade. Offering support and guidance to ensure the highest standard of food preparation and presentation is constantly maintained with superb attention to detail.

Duties
* Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in accordance with our standards
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food production.
* Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.
* Collaborate with our Head Chef on menu planning and development of new recipes.
* Monitor kitchen operations to maintain cleanliness and organization.
* Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, safety protocols, and restaurant policies.
* Participate in shift management, ensuring smooth operations during service hours.
* Handle special requests from guests while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a fine dining or high-volume restaurant and banqueting environment
* Experience in banquet service is highly desirable
* Demonstrable ability to lead and manage a team effectively
* Knowledge of stock management practices and food service management principles
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and guests
* Commitment to upholding food safety standards and best practices within the kitchen
