Key Projects & Clients

Clients include National Grid, BP, Sellafield, Associated British Ports, Transport Scotland, National Highways, Network Rail and numerous contractors and developers.
Responsibilities
* Desk studies, site inspections, rock‑face surveys and geomorphological mapping
* Contribute to the design, planning and procurement of ground investigations
* Supervision of ground investigation fieldwork
* Geological interpretation and preparation of interpretative reports
* Analysis of geotechnical data, preparation of ground models, design and reporting on foundations, retaining walls, soil‑slope stability, earthworks and rock‑slope stabilisation
* Use of digital software such as Openground for data management and Leapfrog for 3D geological modelling
* Opportunity to develop skills in 2D/3D numerical analysis through available software packages
Qualifications
* A degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or Geology with a 2:1 classification (or equivalent) or above
* An MSc/MEng in Soil Mechanics / Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology is an advantage
* Competent use of Microsoft Office; competent use of AutoCAD/Civil 3D is desirable
* Geotechnical work experience is preferred but not essential
* Willingness to work towards professional qualifications (ICE IOM3 or Geological Society)
* Demonstrable interest in geotechnical projects and promoting geotechnical activities with clients
* Flexibility to work away from home on sites and occasionally at other offices
* Motivation to meet client and business expectations, including consideration of financial and commercial implications
* Effective communication skills with colleagues and clients, both verbally and in writing
* Capability to structure and prioritise work effectively through close cooperation with the team
* Ability to work independently without losing initiative and focus
