Overview
As a key member of the Danish Crown Foodservice division, you are responsible for managing customer relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction and acting as a liaison between the customer and the company. You will build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with a portfolio of customers, working to understand their needs and challenges, and finding solutions to meet those needs. You will play a key role in driving business growth by nurturing existing customer relationships, identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling, pursuing new business opportunities and value maximisation through strategic market placement.
Responsibilities and attributes
Business Development
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including cold-calling and attending trade exhibitions to expand customer base
* Follow strategic sales plans to meet monthly and annual sales targets
* Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities and customer needs
Client Relationship Management
* Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
* Act as the primary point of contact for key customers, conducting regular performance reviews and addressing customer needs
Sales Execution
* Present products or services in a structured and professional manner to potential customers
* Negotiate contracts, pricing and delivery terms with buyers and managers to close deals
* Monitor sales performance metrics, aiming to meet or exceed targets
Reporting and Analysis
* Support the preparation of detailed sales forecasts, market activity reports and financial analysis to inform decision-making
* Provide feedback on customer preferences and market trends to support product development and marketing strategies
Collaboration
* Work closely with internal teams (e.g., product, marketing, operations) to ensure seamless project implementation and alignment with customer expectations
* Deliver initiatives in line with key customers and Danish Crown strategy
* You must be based in England in a suitable location to maximise customer visits across the region
* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to analyse financial data (e.g., profit margins)
* Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills to build trust with clients and stakeholders
* Proficiency in using digital tools such as CRM software for managing client data effectively
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

Education or experience required
* 5+ years of proven commercial experience with ability to work independently in a competitive environment, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
* An established network in the UK market, preferably within a Regional or Local Foodservice trading environment
