We’re seeking an experienced and motivated Conference and Operations Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality events at our client’s dynamic venue. This role involves overseeing all operational aspects of conferences and banqueting, managing and inspiring a dedicated team, and ensuring seamless event execution.
The Role
* Manage event logistics, inventory, and suppliers; act as Duty Manager when needed. Drive service excellence and support the growth of our hospitality offerings.
* Lead, motivate, and support the conference and banqueting team to deliver outstanding events and guest experiences, maintaining a 5-star service standard.
* Oversee daily event operations, including setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring all client requirements are met.
* Delegate tasks effectively to supervisors and team members for smooth event delivery.
* Ensure compliance with legal and operational standards, including food hygiene, COSHH, health and safety, and licensing. Maintain training records.
* Handle administrative functions such as staffing schedules, financial reporting, stock control, and procurement.
* Maintain appropriate staffing levels to support efficient event delivery and daily operations.
* Develop and nurture relationships with clients, suppliers, partners, and internal teams for collaborative service delivery.
* Monitor departmental costs and stay within budgets to meet financial targets.
* Place timely orders for supplies and provisions as per event requirements.
* Conduct operational audits to ensure procedures and legal compliance.
* Contribute to departmental KPIs and support strategic growth initiatives.
* Coordinate with the wider events and catering teams for seamless service.
* Manage the Premises Licence and ensure adherence to licensing laws.
* Collaborate with the Head of Hospitality on partnerships and product development to enhance offerings.
* Serve as Duty Manager as needed to support venue operations and reputation.
* Perform any additional duties to ensure the department operates effectively.
