About the Team The Consenting & Environment team provides end-to-end planning and environmental services across the lifecycle of renewable energy projects. From site identification and feasibility to scoping, EIA, and post-consent support, the team combines expert project managers, planners, and technical specialists to deliver thoughtful, effective solutions. Your Role As Associate Technical Director, you will: Provide strategic and technical leadership on hydrology and peatland-related aspects of major onshore renewable projects. Guide a team of hydrologists, ensuring technical quality, mentoring, and professional development. Produce, review, and sign off technical deliverables including Peat Management Plans, EIA chapters, Private Water Supply Risk Assessments (PWSRAs), and Water Monitoring Plans. Oversee multiple complex projects-managing client relationships, survey logistics, and budgets. Stay current with regulatory and policy developments relevant to hydrology and renewables. Represent the company in client meetings, design workshops, and stakeholder consultations. Support business development by identifying new opportunities and contributing to tenders and bids. What We're Looking For A degree in hydrology, environmental science, or a closely related field. Significant consultancy experience within the renewable energy sector. Deep, demonstrable expertise in peatland environments -including peat depth and stability surveys, risk assessments, and peatland management-is essential. Proven track record in team leadership, client engagement, and project delivery. Strong understanding of UK environmental legislation and planning policy.
