School of Performing Arts and Conservatoire
Part Time: 37 hours per week for 30 weeks per year
Hours to be worked: Monday to Friday with rostered weekend work.
Flexibility is required to support scheduled events
This role will work within the University’s large, busy and vibrant School of Performing Arts & Conservatoire. The post holder will work as part of a team sharing and managing a wide range of technical activities and tasks.
We need a pro-active, flexible team player who brings an enthusiastic and helpful attitude to work with a technical background in a performing arts environment, ideally within an educational setting. Working as part of a team of technicians it’s essential you have excellent communication, interpersonal and practical skills; good knowledge of music equipment, lighting, sound and rigging; accuracy and attention to detail and effective organisational and time management skills.
You will be required to provide First Aid support, but full training will be given.
About you
A recognised qualification in a performing arts or significant similar knowledge in a performing arts technical role. This could be a degree in performing arts or equivalent including good industry and technical knowledge.
About the team
Our technical team provide comprehensive technical duties to facilitate the effective and efficient day-to-day operation of various degree programmes and activities, including the moving and setting up of a variety of equipment. This role will require you to move equipment and furniture on a very regular basis.
Based at our Chichester Campus but with the ability to travel to work at our Bognor Regis campus, or other external venues as required, you’ll provide the highest level of customer service support to our students and staff. Out of hours evening working will be required.
