Community Staff Nurse

Weare currently seeking Registered Nurses to join our Community Nursing teams inthe North Durham area covering the Durham and Derwentside localities. The teamsprovide a service between the hours of 8am and 9pm 7 days a week on a dutyroster. The role involves providing holistic nursing care to adult patients intheir own home or residential care setting. Successful applicants will berequired to hold a first level nursing registration with the NMC, additionaltraining specific to the role can be provided

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Job responsibilities
Thesuccessful candidate will provide a variety of nursing care to patients;including wound care, administration of medication, palliative care, managementof bowel and catheter care. The role involves assessment of patient care needs,care planning, delivery of care and review. The successful candidate will berequired to work independently as part of the wider Nursing team reporting backto senior staff on duty

Qualifications
* 1st Level Registration with the NMC (Adult)
* Knowledge of issues in community nursing
* Knowledge of Intermediate Care
* Knowledge of key policy drivers for health and social care
Statutory Registration
* 1st Level Registration with the NMC (Adult)

* Able to travel across Trust sites to meet the requirements of the post
