Overview
Our children are not able to live safely with their parent(s) or family, usually due to adverse childhood experiences and trauma. Residential Support Workers listen and engage our children in 1:1 work around feelings, emotions, and behaviours, and link with other professionals, such as social workers, schools, police, and health workers to ensure our children's needs are met. Night staff have a significant and important role in our children's homes and work through the night whilst staff are asleep. Night staff are responsible for ensuring the home is secure during the night and, should the children wake, that they have a friendly face to support them and deal with any issues.
Responsibilities
Residential Support Workers will: listen and work one-on-one with children to address their emotions and behaviours, coordinate with social workers, schools, police, and health workers, maintain a safe environment during the night, provide support when children wake, and engage children in activities to promote wellbeing.
