The role
As an SEO & GEO Copywriter, you will transform the Superdrug.com eCommerce experience by improving site copy across FAQ, product, category, landing pages, and revitalizing the Superdrug Blog with educational content on trends, products, and beauty tips.
Day-to-day responsibilities
Expert knowledge – Share, educate, and introduce best practice for SEO & GEO across online business and supplier teams to improve rankings in SERPs and AI recommendation tools.
Create how‑to guides for best practice product descriptions for suppliers and marketplace vendors, working with CR, design and trading teams to develop best‑in‑class product pages.
Work with Own Brand product development to support SEO‑friendly descriptions that comply with regulations.
Develop best‑in‑class landing‑page copy for seasonal moments.
Report on performance on search engines and AI tools, and outline actionable plans to optimise.
Digital content planning: develop and implement a content calendar for Superdrug's blog by working with Insights and Digital Marketing to identify emerging trends.
Stay informed on SEM and other opportunities; share knowledge internally to support the Digital Marketing strategy and stay ahead of competition.
What you’ll do
* Generate detailed, customer‑focused initiatives aligned with the Online Business and Marketing strategy and support execution.
* Listen to customers and implement new ideas and ways of working to improve online and offline service.
* Ensure the team prioritises actions that delight customers and team members.
* Act as the voice of customers, orchestrating the organisation to live the brand purpose and inspire a customer‑first culture.
* Help the team understand when to use AI versus human judgment and how to combine both.
* Rethink how work gets done – shift repetitive tasks to higher‑value activities as AI takes on routine work.
* Model behaviours that encourage confidence with AI; develop ability to use AI effectively and think critically about outputs.
* Strengthen the human touch by balancing AI efficiency with coaching, empathy, and team cohesion.
What you’ll need to succeed
* 1–2 years experience in an SEO content/copy role, managing tactics and campaigns.
* Background working in a fast‑paced retail head office (ideal).
* Strong copywriting skills.
* Strong IT skills – MS Office, Excel.
* Knowledge of Hybris and Google Analytics (ideal).
* A hands‑on, get‑stuck‑in approach.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Excellent time management and prioritisation.
* Problem‑solving ability.
* Ability to establish strong relationships at all levels.
* Ability to manage tough/complex messages with stakeholders.
* Model collaboration to exceed goals.
