SRT are recruiting for a Senior IT Network and Infrastructure Systems Engineer to work with the UK Project support, and in-country project teams. You will be at the forefront of working with our project teams, subcontractors and customers for the build and national integration of our systems. Role Overview - Senior IT Network and Infrastructure Systems Engineer This role is ideal for a talented and ambitious Senior IT Network and Infrastructure Systems Engineer where you will be responsible for receiving the SRT reference network architecture patterns and project specific low-level designs and implementing them in-field for customer deployments. This will involve distilling the LLDS (Low-Level Design Specifications) down into project specific implementation drawings and work instructions for other engineers but also creating as-is design documents for site configuration, including installation design drawings per site/site type (rack layouts, room layouts, power and comms schematics etc) and network configuration designs for all components relating to the core products but also how they integrate to the wider systems (e.g. CCTV, VOIP etc.) Responsibilities - Senior IT Network and Infrastructure Systems Engineer Lead the configuration and deployment of engineers for networked servers, storage, network (hardware and related software packages) and other IT system support infrastructure Support the in-country projects and the checking and validation of installations, and provide reports Be the “go to” person for network related solutions and will act as a technical lead for all implementations in this discipline assisting in-country engineers and partners Build a close working relationship with the network design engineers on the forward-thinking solutions and providing feedback from implementation Perform site surveys for upcoming data centre deployments from a range of network perspectives such as as-is connectivity, existing systems, 3rd party systems and providers Installing and commissioning the data centre products and services for the MDA system from a network workstream following LLD’s for the core but also designing solutions for 3rd party systems Documenting as-built designs as part of the installations and commissioning Link to Configuration Control for all implementation design documents produced including version control. Pro-actively engage the wider SRT and Vendor teams (e.g. equipment partners, support desk), driving the timely resolution of technical gaps and issues to keep projects on track. Proactively working on your own or as part of an Engineering team in-field Assist in UK deployments and work streams whilst not in field such as LLD’s, environments management and working with the other engineers on specific tasks Requirements - Senior IT Network and Infrastructure Systems Engineer Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an Engineering related discipline is highly desirable, however extensive experience in mixed software engineering and IT projects is ESSENTIAL Strong Technical Expertise : Possess in-depth knowledge and proficiency in various technologies, including network infrastructure and network transport layers Problem-Solving Skills: Skilled at analysing and resolving complex technical challenges that arise during the design and implementation of the platforms Communication and Collaboration: Effective communication and teamwork are crucial to work closely with developers, stakeholders, and other teams to ensure delivery of the strategy Excellent understanding and experience of hardware infrastructure implementation and low-level working principles Ability to assess COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) applications and oversee the implementation of associated tools and products Ability to proactively think on the fly and look to alternative solutions to cope with the changing environment of the deployments and projects Experience of “in-field” working and working in environmentally diverse locations Benefits - Senior IT Network and Infrastructure Systems Engineer Highly Competitive Salary Matched company pension contributions up to 5% 25 days annual leave rising to 28 days with service Private health care Career Development opportunities Company “Get to know you” days SRT Marine plc are an equal opportunity employer.
