Job Overview
As a Family and Carer Ambassador, you will provide practical and emotional support to families and carers of those with complex mental health needs. You will also offer advocacy to ensure that the families / carers and patients’ needs and views are heard and acted on, whatever their communication needs are. You will identify and address cross‑organisational challenges and work closely with key agencies across the health, education, social care and voluntary sector, including adult services where transition planning or adult service support is required.
Right to work in the UK is required. Due to current Home Office Guidelines, we are unable to sponsor this role.
Responsibilities
* Provide practical and emotional support to families and carers.
* Advocate for families / carers and patients’ needs and views.
* Identify and address cross‑organisational challenges.
* Collaborate with agencies across health, education, social care, voluntary and adult services.
Qualifications
* Proactive and compassionate with strong communication skills.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Passionate about effecting change and empowering patients, families and carers.
* Lived experience is a key aspect of this role (e.g., personal caregiving, ward experience, service user experience).
