Join Our Team as a Facilities Assistant!
Are you ready to make a difference? We're on the lookout for a dedicated Facilities Assistant to help ensure the smooth running of operations at Compass Group UK&I. This is a full-time position, contracted for 37 hours per week.

Overall Purpose of the Role
Your mission? To deliver efficient and effective caretaking support to Sandhill View Academy. You’ll ensure cleanliness, heating, lighting, and security are maintained, creating a safe environment for children, staff, and other users of the school premises while adhering to health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Promote a safety culture by complying with all health and safety procedures.
* Follow safe working practices and adhere to instructions from technical consultants and contractors.
* Conduct security procedures, including inspections, locking/unlocking doors, and liaising with authorities as needed.
* Complete routine checks and maintain records, including alarm logs and heating system records.
* Perform handyperson duties such as painting, basic plumbing, and remedial works.
* Ensure site inductions for subcontractors and visitors are carried out according to safety standards.
* Communicate effectively with the team to set clear objectives and promote a positive safety culture.
* Provide porterage services, including room setups and managing deliveries.
* Monitor stock levels of consumables and arrange replenishments as necessary.
* Carry out Fire Marshal duties and keyholder responsibilities for emergency callouts.
* Be flexible and willing to assist with other reasonable requests from your line manager.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications:
* Proven competency in painting and decorating.
* Good spoken English with basic literacy and numeracy skills.
* Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage tasks in a demanding environment.
* High standards of cleanliness and presentation.
* Confidence in using a smartphone or PDA.
