Are you passionate about data, research, and making a real impact? Extern is offering an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Research and Insights Officer.
In this role, you'll bring your expertise in research, evaluation, and impact measurement to help us tell the story of our work and its outcomes. You'll be experienced in a variety of research methods and passionate about co-production and participatory approaches that place people at the heart of the process.
We're looking for someone who is not only analytical but also a great communicator-someone who can translate complex data into compelling insights for diverse audiences. You'll use creative and accessible methods to share findings, and you'll support and empower colleagues across Extern to adopt innovative ways of gathering and using evidence to inform and improve our services.

Salary: Grade 5 salary scale: £25,614 - £31,325 per annum
Hours: 37.5 standard hours (including 30 minute daily paid break) (the post-holder may be required to undertake additional hours in order to ensure the effective execution of duties)
Contract Status: Permanent
Location: Hydepark House, 3 McKinney Road, Newtownabbey, (may need to travel throughout the Island of Ireland)
As a key member of the Communications, Engagement and Partnership Department, you will play a vital role in shaping how Extern understands and communicates the impact of its services. This role involves designing, conducting, and reporting on research and insights that inform service development, public consultations, and strategic reporting. You will also support the creation of Extern's Annual Reports for Ireland and Northern Ireland with impact analysis and contribute to tender applications through evidence-based insights.
