Overview

Help us turn strategic intent into life-changing outcomes by heading the newly created Joint Grants Management Office (JGMO) at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

You will coordinate the full lifecycle of grants, connecting hospital and charity to ensure every investment delivers real results for children with rare and complex conditions. This hands-on, operational role is for someone who thrives on making things happen. You will manage applications, post-award processes, finance, workforce, and reporting, while supporting teams to deliver projects effectively and achieve measurable outcomes.

You will also help shape ways of working, build the JGMO into a highly effective central hub, and ensure every grant is seamless and impactful.

Working closely with and reporting to the GOSH Strategy Director and the GOSH Charity Head of Grant Funding, you will be the vital link between hospital and charity, driving coordinated delivery of our shared priorities portfolio.

This is a rare opportunity to shape how we work and play a pivotal role in turning charitable investment into life-changing results for children with rare and complex conditions.

Responsibilities

* Lead the day-to-day operations of the JGMO, ensuring the office functions as the central hub for all charitable grant activity and oversight.
* Support the Strategy Director by providing insight, intelligence, and operational oversight across the grant's portfolio.
* Act as a bridge between hospital executives, clinicians, charity colleagues, and external partners to ensure alignment and communication.
* Anticipate and resolve operational challenges, ensuring smooth and timely delivery of grant processes across both organisations.
* Provide senior leaders with accurate data, insight, and analysis to support evidence-based decisions about charitable investment.
* Champion and actively drive forward the strategic alignment of grant-funded projects with Trust and Charity priorities.
* Support development and reporting of JGMO key performance indicators.

About us

We are keen to make our workforce as diverse as the communities we serve, and we hope to attract applications from underrepresented groups, including people with Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic heritage, people with a disability, and people from LGBTQ+ communities. By growing an ever more diverse workforce, we\'ll have a greater range of perspectives and knowledge, meaning that we can provide the children and young people at our hospital with even better care.

Our hospital is committed to creating an environment that is open and inclusive. Our staff are encouraged to engage with colleagues through the following networks: REACH (Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage) ENABLED (Enhancing Abilities & Leveraging Disabilities Network), PRIDE and Women's networks; all of which are sponsored by a member of our Executive Management Team.

We want to ensure that all of our people, regardless of their background, are seen and heard. We want to attract applicants that share our commitment to inclusion and that understand diversity is a strength that is embraced and valued.
