Administrator – Insolvency Investigations (Please be aware this is not a standard Administrator role)

Skills & Experience
Essential
* A good understanding of insolvency and accountancy matters.
* Solid knowledge of antecedent transactions and related claims
* Strong Excel skills and confidence analysing financial data.
* Minimum two years' experience in an investigation or forensic‑focused role (preferably within insolvency).
* Desirable
* CPI qualification or an accounting qualification (strongly desirable but not essential).
* Experience managing a high‑volume case portfolio.
* Exposure to contentious insolvency work.
About the Role
We are looking for an Administrator specialising in Insolvency Investigations to join our growing team. This is a forensic, investigation‑focused position where you will manage a substantial portfolio of cases, primarily CVLs and, in time, ADMs.
Your core responsibility is to conduct detailed investigations, identify recoverable claims, and progress matters efficiently to maximise returns for creditors. You will work closely with Insolvency Practitioners, directors, accountants, and internal teams to drive cases forward.
Key Responsibilities
SIP 2 Investigations & Case Progression
* Conduct SIP 2 investigations within three months of appointment.
* Analyse company bank statements and credit card statements to identify antecedent transactions and potential claims against directors and third parties.
* Perform Accounts analysis, including profit & loss accounts and balance sheets.
* Review accounting records from systems such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and others, including journals, nominal ledgers, and fixed asset registers etc.
* Review ad‑hoc documentation such as agreements and supporting records.
* Undertake asset‑tracing exercises including but not limited to; Land Registry, PN1/IOPN searches and other investigative tools.
* Prepare and submit CDDA reports, liaising with the Insolvency Service and providing supporting documentation promptly.
* Draft clear, accurate correspondence to directors, accountants, and connected parties regarding claims and potential recoveries.
* Conduct telephone enquiries and negotiate settlement agreements for the benefit of the insolvent estate.
* Review directors' responses to assess whether matters have been adequately addressed.
* Provide periodic case progression updates to Insolvency Practitioners and internal departments.
* Occasionally support managers in reviewing solicitors' responses and progressing legal matters.
