An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to contribute towards the provision of excellent patient care within the endocrine service. We are looking to appoint a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Endocrinology to join the Endocrine team at UHCW. You will join a team of experienced specialist nurses in a tertiary Endocrine referral Centre and be given full structured supervision to develop your skills in Endocrinology. The post holder will play a key role in developing the Endocrine service and will be expected to perform autonomously in various clinical settings, including the investigation unit, dynamic function testing, specialist screening, treatments, procedures, clinics, and nurse-led clinics. The role also involves developing audit tools, clinical protocols, guidelines, leading audit and research activities, and delivering patient and staff education programmes. Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report from their current UK occupational health provider or GP.
Responsibilities include:
1. Coordinate patient care within the Endocrine Services.
2. Provide specialist care, advice, and support to patients, families, carers, and staff involved in the care of patients with long-term endocrine conditions throughout their diagnostic, treatment, surveillance, and follow-up pathways.
3. Educate nursing, medical, and other staff groups about Endocrinology and its management, serving as a resource for these groups.
4. Collaborate with the Endocrine Team to facilitate ongoing care for patients with recurrent or long-term conditions.
5. Develop a proactive role in health promotion to increase awareness of endocrine diseases and long-term conditions among professionals and the public.
6. Undertake clinical audits and service evaluations related to specialist practice.
7. Develop nurse-led services to support service development.
