Our team is expanding in response to the increased number of looked after children. The Children in Care Health Team is looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and highly motivated individual to contribute to the delivery and ongoing development of a service that promotes and ensures high-quality specialist health care for Children and Young People (CYP) in care.
This is a diverse health role working closely with CYP, their carers, other health professionals and multi-agency partners. You will work at the interface between health, local authorities and partner agencies to drive forward the national and local corporate parenting agenda for the health of children in care.
Requirements/Qualifications:
* Experience as a community practitioner, Health Visitor, or School Nurse (with specialist practitioner qualification) with substantial experience of working with Children and Young People in the community at Band 6 or above.
* Experience in the design and delivery of training and the supervision of colleagues.
* Strong career interest in developing your professional role.
* Commitment to improving services that promote the health of children and young people in care.
* Excellent communication skills; approachable, reliable and well organized.
* Willingness to provide a flexible approach to supporting young people, their carers and families.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee a caseload of children in care as part of the Corporate parenting partnership.
* Identify unmet health needs and work with the team to address these needs.
* Collaborate with the Children in Care Health Team and partner agencies to promote high-quality health care for CYP in care.
