Howard Tenens are currently recruiting for a Head of Contract Management. This is a new role which will oversee the Contract Management function and team ensuring the customer relationship enjoys mutual value to include, excellence in customer service, cost to serve, profitability, H&S, continuous improvement and wallet growth.
The Head of Contract Management will be responsible for managing a team of Contract Managers and from time to time nominated larger accounts, supporting the Contract Management team. The role will build and grow the customer relationships, ensuring that the customer and HTL have meaningful contact points throughout the structures, to include, day to day operational contacts, IT, Finance and SLT.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching and developing the contract management team in addition to this ensuring the business explores and challenges current ways of working ensuring customers enjoy first class service, and our operational teams provide efficient, lean and cost-effective solutions. You will also be essential in building effective and high performing teams and can challenge inwardly and outwardly with all stakeholders.
The duties and responsibilities of the Head of Contract Management will include, but are not limited to:
* To ensure the business retain and grow existing customer accounts with commercials that enable the business to achieve and surpass its budgeted profit target.
* Engagement with site leadership to ensure continuous improvement measures are in place to drive the operational effectiveness of the contract and ensure contract adherence.
* Engagement with site leadership to ensure contractual KPIs are achieved and surpassed.
* Work closely with the customer to ensure an understanding of their strategic ambitions and that Howard Tenens play a lead role in supporting them.
* Manage all aspects of people management processes in line with company policy, including recruitment, discipline and grievance, absence, annual reviews and performance management.
* Provide regular communication and team briefings to the team.

* Experience in people management and specifically managing, building and leading a team of managers.
* Demonstrates a clear and supportive management style and recognises the importance of regular communication to all team members.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Ability to demonstrate Commercial Awareness with customers and suppliers.
* Strong understanding of contract law, negotiations, and contract administration principles.
* Proven experience 5 years in contract management.
* Proven experience 5 years in logistics operations within the transportation, warehousing, or distribution industry.
