The Place Of Safety (POS) at Meadowfield is recruiting a Band 6 nurse to join our team. The POS (136 suite) consists of a secure outdoor space, separate accommodation, assessment and office space and has been equipped with specialised furniture.
Role Summary
We would like you to be a part of our team during these exciting times. You will be working within a Mental Health hospital with 3 acute wards and a Haven, and closely with the crisis team to facilitate appropriate outcomes for service users who come to the suite.
Responsibilities
* Co‑coordinate MHA assessments and liaise with Sussex Police, approved mental health practitioner teams and local community mental health teams for section 136 and section 135 assessments.
* Deliver focused clinical interventions prior to the Mental Health Act assessment with a view to reducing the use of the Act and the need for admissions.
* Provide senior nurse input and support staff completion of nurse prescribing and attainment of Associate clinician status.
Working Hours
Shifts follow a 12‑hour pattern with flexibility in day and night shifts. Both full‑time and part‑time hours are available.

Qualifications
Position is open to an experienced staff nurse seeking new growth and development opportunities, or a current charge nurse/community nurse with Band 6 experience.
