We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for maintaining and repairing vehicles. This role is crucial in ensuring that our fleet operates efficiently and safely, providing excellent service to our customers.
Responsibilities
* Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various types of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety standards.
* Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals to identify faults.
* Assemble and disassemble vehicle components as needed for repair or replacement.
* Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs and maintenance tasks.
* Conduct equipment repair and maintenance to ensure all tools are in good working condition.
* Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.
* Perform heavy lifting as required during the repair process, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Experience
* Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or similar role is preferred.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various vehicle systems.
* Familiarity with welding techniques is advantageous but not essential.
* Experience in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment is required.
* Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving with attention to detail in all tasks performed.
