Job Description:
Team Penske is seeking a full-time Penske Gallery Host to create memorable guest experiences at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum's Penske Gallery. The role involves connecting visitors with the stories, artifacts, and themes of the gallery, working closely with the coordinator, team members, volunteers, and staff to ensure an engaging and well-maintained environment. The host will develop an in-depth understanding of the exhibits and museum as a whole to answer questions and facilitate engaging conversations, enhancing visitors' appreciation of Team Penske and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Additionally, hosts will gather guest feedback to report on visitor interests, common questions, and observations.
Responsibilities:
* Guest Engagement & Interpretation: Interact with guests to understand their interests, answer questions, and connect conversations with exhibits to encourage personal connections.
* Gallery Monitoring: Keep the space clean and presentable, ensure artifacts are not touched, and report issues or questions to the coordinator.
* Necessary Knowledge: Gain expertise in Team Penske history, their performance at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and general knowledge of the IMS and Indy 500.
* Schedule: This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 30 hours per week, including weekends and after-hours events. Regular attendance at the museum is expected.
Physical Demands:
* Stand, walk, kneel, or sit for extended periods as needed.
* Work on a computer for extended periods.
* Lift light to moderate loads (11-35 lbs.) from floor to overhead.
* Possible exposure to moderate to heavy noise and flashing lights in certain areas.
