Band 7 Pre-Treatment Therapeutic Radiographer

This position is permanently based in pre-treatment. Main duties of the job
To be responsible for leading a team and managing a unit within the department.To manage staff and patients and carry out complex technical radiotherapeutic pretreatment procedures in the CT Scanning and Palliative Planning areas of the department ensuring a safe, accurate and efficient radiotherapy service is maintained. To act as a first line expert in technical and managerial areas within radiotherapy. The post holder must be qualified to practice as an operator within Radiotherapy as defined by IR(ME)R.

Education & professional Qualifications
* BSc in Radiotherapy or DCR(T)- Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent.
* Must be registered with the HCPC
* Evidence of appropriate CPD activity
Experience
* Extensive practical radiotherapy experience in pre-treatment including experience as a band 6 radiographer or equivalent
* Trained in cannulation and IV contrast administration
* Trained in breast mark-up and/or V-Sim
Skills and aptitudes
* Demonstrate good theoretical knowledge of a range of treatment techniques, advanced techniques in CT, and planning
* Demonstrate participation in the development and implementation of techniques and procedures
* Demonstrates a high level of communication skills including the ability to deal with anxious and demanding patients an carers
* Demonstrates and ability to work under pressure
* Demonstrate leadership qualities and an ability to motivate staff and build a team
* Demonstrate a high level of organisation with problem solving and decision making skills
* Demonstrate the importance of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Demonstrate good levels of coordination to ensure precise patient setup and treatment delivery
