The Role
You’ll support the commercial management of a major civil engineering and infrastructure project, working closely with a Senior QS or Commercial Manager. You’ll be responsible for managing the day-to-day commercial and contractual aspects of your assigned work packages, ensuring accurate cost control, reporting, and subcontract management.
Key Responsibilities

Manage cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting for allocated project sections.

Administer and manage subcontracts, including procurement, variations, and payments.
*
Support the project’s commercial and contractual compliance under NEC contracts (mainly Options C & E).
*
Prepare and agree interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
*
Work collaboratively with engineers, planners, and the wider commercial team to ensure efficient project delivery.
*
Provide guidance and support to Assistant Quantity Surveyors as required.
What You’ll Need
*
Solid Quantity Surveying background with experience on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
*
Working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 forms of contract (Options C & E desirable).
*
RICS / CIOB / ICES qualification or relevant degree/HND in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
*
Experience in energy, utilities, or infrastructure projects (e.g. civils, cable routes, substations, trenchless or HDD works) would be advantageous.
