3 months contract with local authority We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide high-quality, individualized care and support to individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism in a complex needs environment. The primary responsibility is to improve the quality of life for service users, enhance their mental and physical well-being, and support them in developing their skills to achieve greater independence and control over their life choices. Responsibilities: Provide person-centered care and support, including personal care, medication management, promoting physical and mental well-being, community participation, household living skills, and money management. Treat service users with dignity and respect, effectively communicating to identify and meet their diverse needs. Develop person-centered support and risk management plans aligned with individual needs, goals, and aspirations. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, performance standards, and organizational policies and values. Maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment in adherence to fire safety protocols, health and safety standards, and lone working procedures. Follow and manage safeguarding policies and procedures to promote the well-being of all individuals. Collaborate with other services, professional agencies, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality support. Work with the Living Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) lead and mentor team members for PBS interventions. Act as a designated shift leader in the absence of management. Contribute to team effectiveness through strong teamwork and communication. Attend and represent the organization at care plan reviews. Act as a scheme champion for dignity and person-centered support. Undertake other duties as assigned by the manager. Requirements Previous experience in a similar support role is preferred. Knowledge of and experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively within a team and independently. Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures. Willingness to undergo relevant training and development. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Valid driver's license (preferred).
