Overview
This mobile, van-based role calls for a practical, hands-on professional with a strong understanding of building fabric systems, finishes, and minor carpentry and plumbing works. The ideal candidate will thrive on variety, problem-solving, and taking pride in delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance.
Responsibilities
* Attend and resolve reactive fabric maintenance tasks across multiple client sites within agreed SLAs
* Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) routines, focusing on building fabric upkeep and aesthetic standards
* Undertake general repairs and minor works, including door and lock repairs, patch plastering, painting, tiling, basic plumbing and carpentry
* Deliver small-scale fabric installations or refurbishments as required
* Identify and report any defects or additional works to ensure ongoing compliance and functionality
* Complete accurate records of work, risk assessments, and job status updates using internal systems
* Liaise confidently with site contacts and the Technical Services Manager to escalate critical issues
* Participate in the on-call rota, providing support for emergency repairs and out-of-hours service
* Ensure that all work complies with health, safety, and environmental standards
* Use handheld devices and digital systems to log jobs, quotes, and remedial actions
Qualifications
* Proven experience in fabric maintenance, handyman services, or multi-trade repair roles within commercial or industrial buildings
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Strong working knowledge of building fabric systems, including joinery, painting, basic plumbing, and minor repairs
* Ability to work independently, manage daily schedules, and respond to tasks across a range of sites
* Sound understanding of health and safety practices within maintenance environments
