Energy Engineer (CC13452) - Bath, BA2 7AYThis is a fantastic opportunity to join the Energy and Environment team, part of the Department of Campus Infrastructure at the University of Bath.This role is eligible for the Campus Infrastructure refer a friend bonus *About the roleWorking closely with the Climate Action team, this is an essential role using data analysis and face-to-face influence to support the university to meet energy and cost reduction objectives, and targets within the context of wider sustainability commitments such as carbon and water management and corporate social responsibility.You will:carry out investigations and audits of building fabric, building service plant and usage to understand energy and water consumption and identify performance improvementsuse the university’s systems such as Automated Meter Reading (AMR) and Building Management System (BMS) to identify and report on energy use, management and reductioninput into the design and commissioning of new buildings and any other major/minor refurbishments to ensure the most sustainable outcome is achievedpromote an energy-saving culture within the department and the university as a whole, by developing relationships throughout the university communityengage and liaise with staff, students, departments and other groups to provide good practice advice and support the adoption and implementation of innovative energy saving ideas on campustake part in energy efficiency projects, projects identified in the Carbon Management Plan and project emanating from the Climate Action FrameworkAbout youThe ideal candidate will have:a degree, ideally in Engineering, Energy, Building Services or Environmental Management or a related subject or equivalent practical experience and alternative qualificationspractical experience and technical knowledge in Energy, Building Services or Environmental Management or related fieldexperience delivering energy audits that evaluate the performance of building fabric, building service plant and controlsexcellent analytical, communication and influencing skillsAn understanding of energy & carbon legislation, project management and general financial management would be an advantage but is not essential.Further informationFor an informal discussion about the role please contact Ben Spicer, Head of Engineer Services at bmbs20@bath.ac.ukWe consider ourselves to be a university where difference is celebrated, respected and encouraged.
