We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our Scrub Team. This is an exciting development opportunity for a registered professional. Training will be provided with a supernumerary, protected, full competency programme for the successful candidate.
Full-time and Part-time posts are available at Band 5 within the Scrub Team. This is open to novice or experienced Practitioners who would like a new challenge. Full competency-based training will be provided and supported by mentors within the department as well as our Health Board Practice Educators.
Main duties of the job
A Registered Practitioner who will support the perioperative team by providing skilled assistance in Scrub.
An ability to apply theory to practice to provide a high standard of perioperative care to all patients, ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to.
Able to work as a member of the operating team. Once fully competent this will include an out-of-hours and on call commitment.
Once competent, be able to lead a team in an operating theatre utilising excellent communication skills to ensure efficiency and expediency whilst maintaining safe and effective care.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge
* Current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) OR Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration
* Registered General Nurse OR Registered Operating Departmental Practitioner
* Commitment to undertake an appropriate course of study
* To have a knowledge and understanding of all surgical specialities within the operating department
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Diploma in theatre perioperative practice
Experience
* Evidence of experience use of equipment and materials
* Relevant experience in all specialities General/Orthopaedic/Gynae/Urology/Trauma
* Experience in the supervision / teaching of students, support staff and others
Language Skills
* Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
