Haskoning are at the forefront of innovative maritime planning, design and development, and our teams of multi-disciplinary experts have assisted our international clientele to create successful ports and maritime infrastructure worldwide. We have provided expert commercial, technical and operational advice and created master plans across the five continents for a wide range of port projects. We are one of the largest and most experienced teams of port planning professionals and engineers globally and we are world leaders in the production of port feasibility studies, master plans and designs. Arch Henderson, established in 1919, have recently merged with Haskoning and have integrated into the Water & Maritime Business Unit of Haskoning to create a Maritime Arch Henderson Advisory Group with offices in Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow, Lerwick and Thurso. What you will do as our Structural Technician
In your new role you will be required to produce accurate technical engineering drawings in accordance with the appropriate specifications on projects predominantly within the maritime engineering sector. You will have the opportunity to work alongside our engineers, senior technicians and architects on a wide range of structural and civil engineering projects in sectors such as maritime, heavy industrial, commercial, food processing and healthcare. You will develop strong relationships with existing and future clients; part of this will include undertaking project tasks and delivering results. You will have the autonomy to work in your own style to achieve the below:
* Coordinate with regional and global structural and civil engineering design teams and the client
* Review drawings, calculations and ensure proper integration with architecture, and MEP
* Monitor design schedules, coordinate quality and adhere to internal quality management systems
* Demonstrating behaviour that ensures your health and safety and that of others
What you bring
* Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and have a working knowledge of 3D software such as Revit Structure
* Minimum 5 years’ experience working within an Engineering Consultancy environment
* Educated to a minimum of HNC level in Civil/Structural Engineering
* Proficient in detailing structural steelwork
* Experience in detailing reinforcement and producing bar bending schedules is highly desirable, but not essential
* Experience in maritime engineering structures (ports, harbours, marinas etc.) would be beneficial, but not essential
* At a level having achieved EngTech with MICE/MIStructE or capable of achieving this now with support, achieved or working towards IEng beneficial

Location
You will be based in Aberdeen, hybrid working is possible, however there is a desire for a minimum of 3 days working in the Aberdeen office.
