Job Description
Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and customer-focused individual to join our team in a hybrid role that offers variety, flexibility, and the chance to be part of a supportive team. This is a split role where your time will be divided between Driving duties - delivering our high-quality products to customer premises in a professional and timely manner, and Branch Support - assisting with yard operations, including loading and unloading vehicles, and supporting day-to-day branch activities.
This role requires ultimate flexibility as we need to be agile enough to meet customer demands. If you enjoy variety in your workday, thrive in a team environment, and take pride in delivering excellent service — this could be the perfect role for you! No two days will be the same!
This role involves:
* Delivering a wide range of high-quality Civils and Drainage products to customers in Colchester and surrounding areas. You will be expected to:
* Ensure efficient & safe operation of the vehicle
* Strive to complete on-time delivery of orders to JDP customers
* Comply with all vehicle and driver legislation
* Provide customers with product and service information
* Pick customer orders accurately
* Assist with loading and unloading of vehicles using a forklift truck
* Process orders accurately within customer deadlines
* Serve customers at the trade counter when required
* Engage in customer interaction
Qualifications
Essential:
* Class C Licence
* Some Driver CPC training
* Digital driving licence (tacho card)
* Understanding of Health & Safety in a work environment
* Knowledge of driver procedures, including driving hours rules & regulations
* Experience in efficient route planning
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
Required:
* Excellent customer service skills
* Literacy & Numeracy
Desirable:
* Warehouse/yard experience
* Good computer skills
* Forklift truck licence
