The role
A Chef is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes while maintaining food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen efficiency. Roles may vary from junior to senior level depending on experience and responsibility. Key Responsibilities: Prepare, cook, and present dishes in line with menu specifications Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation Follow food hygiene, allergen, and health & safety regulations (HACCP) Assist in menu planning and development (senior chefs) Manage stock control, ordering, and minimize waste Ensure kitchen cleanliness and organization always. Work effectively as part of a kitchen team during busy service periods Supervise junior staff (for senior roles such as Sous Chef). Requirements: Previous experience in a professional kitchen Relevant culinary qualifications (desirable but not essential) Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments Strong teamwork and communication skills Flexibility with shifts, including evenings and weekends
