Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Berkshire. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).
At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. We keep the team around the child, and you will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists. This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who are eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner, to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND), SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Support young people referred by local authorities and schools in their educational and social-emotional journey
* Deliver flexible and holistic trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
* Plan each session of teaching / tutoring / mentoring
* Provide holistic and engaging sessions that meet needs and advance progress
* Complete lesson reports and feedback on progress
Qualifications & Requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
* Knowledge of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (we can assist with obtainment at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* UK-based with right to work in the UK, including remote/online assignments
Safeguarding It is a strict requirement to promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and to follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
Employment Status
* Engagements as a Worker for short-term assignments; contracted for service and paid via PAYE
* No guaranteed hours; insurance covers the work you do
* Not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
