Job Description:
You will
lead
and coordinate Supplier Development activity across your area, driving continuous improvement and value creation. You’ll enhance supplier performance through best‑practice methods, structured improvement programmes, and capability assessments, ensuring full engagement in the SD framework. You’ll communicate performance, risks, and progress to cross‑functional and external stakeholders, build
strong
collaborative supplier relationships, and support wider Supply Chain Excellence
initiatives
across People, Process, Technology, and Governance to help shape a future‑ready supply chain.
Core duties:
Leading
and supporting strategic supplier capability assessments, including gap
analysis
and the development of clear, actionable recommendations
Providing technical and problem solving support to key suppliers, addressing
complex
issues to deliver robust and sustainable solutions
Developing and delivering training to suppliers and internal teams to enable
confident
and effective delivery of improvement activities (e.g. Lean, Practical Problem Solving, Project
Management )
Acting as a subject matter
expert, supporting and mentoring colleagues across Supplier Development, Supplier Performance
Management, Quality Assurance, and Continuous Improvement
Producing high quality
analysis, executive summaries, reports, and presentations using Supplier Development tools, trackers, and templates
Essential Skills:
Proven
experience in Supplier Development and Continuous Improvement within a
complex
supply chain environment
Considerable working knowledge of business improvement methodologies, including Lean and Six Sigma, alongside sound Project
Management
principles
Excellent stakeholder
management
skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and externally
Manufacturing experience within aerospace, defence and/or MOD programmes
Auditor trained, with relevant experience in areas such as Supplier Quality Engineering
The Supplier Development Team:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Supplier Development Team, helping to shape and influence the development and implementation of secure and sustainable Supply Chain processes to meet the
challenges
and scale of existing and future programmes. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
