My client, a bespoke MEP Design Consultancy based in Runcorn, is searching for a Graduate Building Services Engineer to join their team to work on mechanical and building services design for residential, commercial and industrial sectors.
This is a hybrid role, offering varied projects spanning high-rise residential, plant rooms, commercial, retail and fire protection projects.
As a Graduate Building Services Engineer, you will join a supportive team and you will be training in mechanical HVAC design for building services. You will be trained by the team, liaise with clients to alleviate queries, complete and review technical work and visit sites across the region.
You will be trained to complete;
-Detailed HVAC and mechanical designs using AutoCAD and Revit.
-Fire protection schemes and sprinkler system design.
-Complete 2D and 3D models, perform heat load calculations, duct sizing, pipe sizing, and equipment selection using relevant software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, HAP, IES, Open Buildings or Elite).
- Prepare mechanical drawings, schematics, simulations, vertical transportation and technical specifications in accordance with building codes, sustainability goals, and project requirements.
-Design to BIM level 2 in accordance with British Standards PAS 1192-5
-Collaborate with architects, plumbing, and structural engineers to ensure coordinated MEP layouts and avoid design clashes.
- Attend internal and client meetings to review design issues/queries and align project objectives. You will be supported by experienced team members throughout.
-Assist with site visits to monitor installation quality, verify compliance with original designs and highlight issues during construction.
This role is from the office in Runcorn 3 days a week (more if required for site visits, training projects or meetings). This exciting role offers training, career progression and the chance to be trained in HVAC mechanical design.
As a Graduate Building Services Engineer, you will be expected to have a BSc and/or an MSc in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering and have a keen interest in mechanical and MEP design for building services.
You will also be a confident individual who is comfortable liaising with design teams, contractors and clients and who is interested in sustainable builds and construction.
As a Graduate Engineer, you will be keen to learn and develop design skills to complete detailed fire protection and HVAC designs across a wide range of sectors.
Experience working for a UK based Consultancy completing HVAC designs is beneficial.
You will be expected to work from the office 3 days a week for training purposes and have a valid UK driving licence to get to the office and sites.
