Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role located in Swindon for a Domestic Abuse Support Officer. The role involves providing empathetic support and guidance to individuals impacted by domestic abuse, working closely with clients to understand their needs and connect them to relevant services. The Domestic Abuse Support Officer will also collaborate with community organisations, maintain accurate records, and contribute to the organisation's broader mission of fostering culturally respectful and inclusive support structures.
Qualifications
* Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to empathetically interact with individuals supporting South Asian victims
* 1 to 1 support (face to face meetings)
* Arrange victim and survivor support sessions
* Attend multi-agency meeting
* Analytical Skills for assessing clients' needs and providing tailored support
* Sign posting
* Ability to work effectively in culturally diverse environments
* Experience in domestic abuse support services is highly desirable
* Knowledge of safeguarding practices and procedures is advantageous
* Commitment to upholding confidentiality and ethical standards
* Must speak a South East Asian language as well as fluent in English
