NORTH AND WEST OPERATIONAL DIVISION

COMMUNITY LEARNING DISABILITY NURSE - BAND 6

Permanent, part-time (16 hours). The Community Learning Disability Nursing service for Skye, Lochalsh and Wester Ross has a permanent, part-time position for a suitably qualified learning disability nurse.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior experienced nurse to work as part of a service that supports individuals with a learning disability across their lifespan, covering a large remote and rural geographical area with the potential challenges this can present.


Responsibilities

The post holder will provide an innovative community nursing service for people with a learning disability in close collaboration with their family, carers, community learning disability team colleagues and other agencies within the defined geographical area of Wester Ross.

The post holder would be based in Wester Ross and will work across this large geographical area. As a senior you will be the caseload holder for the patients in this geographical area and will be required to lone work.

The post holder must be able to drive and have access to a personal vehicle.


Qualifications

The position is for a suitably qualified learning disability nurse.

* Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
