Responsibilities
* Perform preventive maintenance tasks, inspections and repairs on heavy duty vehicles, trailers and cargo tanks.
* Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
* Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair air, hydraulic and electrical systems.
* Perform a wide variety of maintenance and diagnostic functions on bulk liquid handling equipment; PTOs, pumps, meters, reels, etc.
* Account for all time and materials used in performing assigned duties.
* Must understand and properly use all tooling needed for cargo tank repairs.
* Maintains general housekeeping by keeping shop clean and free from oil, fluids, etc.
Requirements
* Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude for equipment repair.
* Welding & fabrication experience.
* Knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and ABS brake systems is desired.
* A self-starter that works as a team member under the direction of management.
* Ability to prioritize work and follow through with repairs.
* Able to use common tools and equipment in the line of work.
* Must have basic hand tools or willing to invest in them.
* Safety conscious – knows how to look out for him/herself and others in the work environment.
* Ability to frequently lift to 50 lbs. Able to lift 65 lbs. from floor to shoulder level occasionally.
* Requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, lifting, carrying, and reaching or handling with arms, hands, and fingers. Also crawling and working in narrow spaces.
* Requires frequent repetitive movements, i.e., hammering, turning wrenches.
* Exposed to heat, cold, noise, mechanical/electrical fume or odor.
