We are currently looking to hire Clinical Laboratory Analysts within our team based in Antrim. The successful candidate will be conducting rapid onsite testing for multiple Point of Care clinical and / or molecular tests. Responsible for the processing of Blood and other samples from Randox Health or third-party clinics.
Location: 30 Randalstown Rd, Antrim BT41 4LH.
Contract Offered: Full-time, permanent.
Working Hours / Shifts: 4 on, 4 off: 6pm to 6am and 6am to 6pm alternating shift pattern. (Night shift allowance given)
Role and responsibilities
* Routine clinical testing in the laboratory and use of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
* Perform various analytical procedures including manual screening and automated methods covering a wide range of clinical diagnostic tests.
* Prepare and handle samples and diagnostic reagents.
* Operate automated analytical systems such as Rx Daytona Plus, Rx Imola and Siemens Immulite XPi.
* Maintain accurate analytical records and ensure chain of custody throughout the analytical process.
* Carry out routine maintenance and calibration of analytical instrumentation.
* Prepare specimens for transportation, safeguarding their stability during shipment to the appropriate analytical laboratory.
* Record and monitor temperatures for laboratory and equipment.
* Troubleshoot technical issues related to clinical diagnostic testing.
* Complete daily Quality Control checks to meet internal criteria and participate in Quality Audits.
Qualifications and experience
* Minimum 1 year laboratory-based experience as a Scientist or Lab Analyst.
* Qualified to at least degree level in Biochemistry or a life science.
* Demonstrable attention to detail.
* Ability to undertake both day and night shift patterns.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong communication and organizational abilities.
* Practical experience using automated analyzers.
* Experience in a private healthcare setting.
* Working knowledge of quality systems and Health and Safety, including CoSHH.
