What will you be doing?
As a Structures Inspector for XEIAD, part of British Engineering Services Group, you ensure our clients’ infrastructure is safe for use and fit for purpose. You will be responsible for the successful completion of structural inspections, investigations and surveys on a wide range of civil engineering assets across the highways sector.
* Use specialist access to inspect and examine a variety of structures throughout the UK in accordance with required technical standards and specifications
* Lead the safe and successful delivery of structural inspections, investigations and surveys
* Support pre‑work planning activities including attending pre‑site visits, liaising with landowners, agents or contractors and reviewing proposed safe systems of work
* Prepare inspection reports, including the production of drawings within CAD
* Work as part of a growing team on railway infrastructure

Requirements
* Experience in a structures inspection role
* Knowledge/awareness of industry standards under the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB)
* Familiarity with CS450 and the Inspection Manual for Highway Structures
* Good knowledge of and progression towards the Senior or Inspector level qualification under the Bridge Inspector Certification Scheme (BICS)
* Experience with asset management software, including IAMIS, AGILE, Bridge Station or equivalent platforms
* Experience using local authority and BCI inspection report forms
* Degree, HNC or HND in civil or structures engineering (desirable)
* Prepared to travel and work nationwide
* Ability to work at height and within confined spaces
* Full UK driving licence
