Position Details
Title: Project Manager III, Construction
Location: Ashburn, VA
Position Summary
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership and driving success of large-scale data center projects or other mission-critical projects. The role encompasses all aspects of construction, requiring autonomy and independent discretion in managing project tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Developing RFP proposals and budgets
* Overseeing pre-bid activities and coordination
* Managing all design phases, documents, and correspondence
* Creating and maintaining project schedules
* Engaging with customers to fulfill requirements
* Coordinating bidding, buyout, and contract awards to subcontractors
* Collaborating with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts
* Overseeing physical construction activities and site safety
* Participating in project commissioning
* Handover of data center and project documents to the customer
* Collaborating with design teams, operators, and clients
* Submitting monthly financial reports, including forecasting and cash flow
* Reviewing contractor billing and conducting site visits to verify progress
* Keeping all relevant parties informed of project status
* Managing vendor contracts and negotiations
* Ensuring compliance of work products with project and customer requirements
* Documenting lessons learned and process improvements
* Coordinating design criteria with budget and maintenance considerations
* Understanding the operational importance of mission-critical facilities
Qualifications
Required: 5-7 years of construction project management experience, preferably in data centers, with knowledge of CSA and MEP disciplines. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred. Ability to work flexible hours and travel up to 25%. Must be a US citizen.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervising one or more superintendents, project coordinators, or assistant project managers.
Physical Demands
Occasional lifting of 10-50 pounds, standing, walking, and other physical activities as described. Reasonable accommodations available.
