AI & Data Science Engineer | Global Energy Trading & Supply

A leading name in Global Energy Trading & Supply is seeking an AI & Data Science Engineer to drive innovative AI solutions, from Large Language Models (LLMs) to Agentic AI, at the heart of the world’s largest energy supply chains.
Sitting within a complex, data-rich trading environment, you’ll unlock insights, design advanced AI pipelines, and shape how data, AI and trading intersect — supporting global crude oil, refined products and the wider energy transition.
🔑 What you’ll do:
* Develop and deploy scalable AI/ML models and pipelines to automate and optimise trading processes
* Experiment with cutting-edge LLMs and Agentic AI solutions for real-time decision support
* Design and maintain robust data architectures in cloud environments (e.g., Azure, Databricks)
* Collaborate closely with data engineers, trading desks, and stakeholders to translate business needs into practical AI applications
* Mentor junior AI and data team members, driving an innovation-first culture
👀 What we’re looking for:
* Proven track record delivering AI/ML solutions in Oil & Gas, commodities trading or financial markets
* Hands-on experience with LLMs, NLP, Generative AI or Agentic AI frameworks
* Expertise in Python, Spark, cloud data platforms (Azure, Databricks, Snowflake)
* Strong understanding of trading data, risk, compliance, and supply & distribution flows
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills — able to bridge technical and commercial needs
