Job Summary
Anord Mardix, a Flex company, is a global group that manufactures switchgear and associated products for installation in mission-critical and live commercial buildings, ranging from data centres to the international headquarters of some of the world’s largest companies. To support our teams, we’re looking to add an EHS Advisor based in Kendal at our Westmorland Business Park facility. Reporting to the EHS Manager, the EHS Advisor will be part of an excellent SHEQ team, responsible for supporting risk control, accident prevention, and promoting an EHS culture among employees, visitors, contractors, and third parties. The role involves implementing, maintaining, and communicating EHS objectives.
This position is for our Night Shift, working hours from 16:00 to 02:00, Monday to Thursday.
What a typical day looks like:
1. Communication and coordination of statutory requirements to ensure ongoing compliance with EHS obligations.
2. Coordinate and maintain Organisational Management Systems (ISO 45001 & ISO 14001) to ensure effective health, safety, and environmental management at manufacturing locations.
3. Build and maintain communication with departments such as technical, engineering, manufacturing, and facilities maintenance to uphold high EHS standards.
4. Review company EHS practices, conduct inspections and audits.
5. Publish and review RAMS for risk management within site operations.
6. Conduct safety tours to identify non-compliance, areas for improvement, and share best practices.
7. Maintain organisational EHS policies and metrics related to site works.
8. Work proactively with operational teams to integrate EHS considerations at all stages.
9. Identify EHS risks and issues across sites and assist in remedial actions.
10. Contribute to incident investigations, review near misses and incidents, identify root causes, and ensure corrective actions.
11. Review occupational health surveillance issues.
12. Represent the company to clients and subcontractors, maintaining positive external relationships.
Experience required:
* NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
* Relevant experience in an EHS role within manufacturing, construction, or engineering.
* Extensive knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, ISO standards, and relevant legislation.
* Ability to work independently and use initiative.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proven ability to liaise effectively at all organizational levels.
