We are seek an experienced and dedicated Senior Housing Practitioner to join the Relief Team within a local authority in Dorset. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled housing professional to take on a leadership role focused on preventing homelessness and reducing the use of temporary accommodation, while benefiting from hybrid working arrangements.
As the Senior Housing Practitioner, you will line manage a team of Housing Options Officers, providing professional supervision, guidance, and support to deliver a high-performing, customer-focused service. You will draw on your strong knowledge of Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996 and other relevant legislation to oversee complex casework and make sound, evidence-based decisions.
Working within a multi-agency framework, you will develop effective partnerships and interventions that support clients to achieve sustainable housing outcomes. A key aspect of this role will be leading initiatives to reduce temporary accommodation use through prevention-focused and creative housing solutions.
About you:
You'll have significant experience in housing services, including complex casework and essential line management experience. A degree-level qualification and CIH Level 4 (or equivalent) are required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills are a must.
